us doing wine

Seth Kitzke was born in Washington State and grew up surrounded by 150 acres of cherries, apples, and wine grapes in The Yakima Valley. From the age of 12 he has always worked in the vineyards on Candy Mountain in Richland, WA.

He attended The Northwest Wine Academy in Seattle Washington. After the program he was able to work with Charles Smith, Brennon Leighton, Brian Carter, and Charlie Hoppes before taking over the winemaking for Kitzke Cellars and Upsidedown Wine.

Seth is a young Winemaker that you will find in the vineyards with our dog Turk and in the cellar always pushing himself to learn more and produce the best wine possible. Upon his first vintage Wine Enthusiast gave his #RescueRosé 90 points and Cabernet Sauvignon 91 points, along with 90+ points from all current releases at the Washington Wine Blog.

Just finishing his fourth vintage at age 29, Seth is motivated to be one of Washington’s best winemakers, I couldn’t be more proud of him! - Audrey

Audrey Kitzke was born in Eugene, OR before moving to Washington and later attending Central Washington University. This is where she met (me) the Vans & Tall-T wearing snowboarder that swept her off her feet! ... the rest is history.  Audrey graduated from Central with a degree in Public Health which led her to a career in corporate wellness.  Later she then transitioned to the finance industry as Executive Assistant at a private firm in the greater Seattle area.  Audrey held it down for us in the early days and allowed me to pursue wine and go to school. She provided stability to our lives and supported my dream before it was hers. After a couple more years she began to discover her own growing passion for wine and decided it was time to join the team. I couldn't be more thankful for her! - Seth
