Please meet our winemaker, Seth Kitzke; and his loyal vineyard companion, Turk - the rescue dog turned happy wine dog!

Seth got his start in the wine industry without a choice.  He planted Kitzke Family Vineyards when he was 12 years old and worked on the 100+ acre farm the majority of his life. After pursuing other aspirations in life, he found himself pulled back to his roots and began learning/loving the wine growing and production process at his family's winery, Kitzke Cellars in Richland, WA.  Growing up around winemakers Robert Smasne and Charlie Hoppes the bar was set high.

After moving to Seattle, he decided to attend The Northwest Wine Academy and learn the production process. After graduating from the program, Seth worked under Charles Smith and Brennon Leighton at K Vintners before heading to Brian Carter Cellars in Woodinville.

Now, Seth is winemaker to both Kitzke Cellars & Upsidedown Wine. It has been a long journey for Seth but things are finally starting to take shape and we couldn't be more thrilled to have a young, passionate and generous winemaker at Upsidedown!
